Netbet is an online poker, sports betting and casino site that has been around since the beginning of the last decade. Although fairly well established before its unfortunate relationship with the ill-fated International Poker Stadiums Tour, Netbet Poker shot to prominence when it absorbed the database of Poker770 in September 2014.

Since September 2014, the site has introduced a much better first deposit bonus, improved its player rewards program, increased the number of poker promotions it hosts, and has overhauled its poker software. Value: The NetBet Poker Welcome Package

The headline promotion within the Welcome Package is the 200% match bonus on first deposits up to €1,500. This means that, if you deposit €750 when first funding your account, you will be eligible for a Netbet Poker bonus of €1,500. Please note that when the Netbet Poker bonus is advertised in other currencies, it is the Euro bonus limit that applies.

The bonus is released in increments of €2.00 as you collect Netbet Points for contributing to the rake deducted from cash game pots or for paying a fee to enter a Sit & Go game or multitable tournament. Promotions is another area in which Netbet Poker seems to stand head and shoulders above its rivals on the iPoker Network. In addition to having a comprehensive range of ongoing and seasonal online poker promotions, Netbet always tends to have them advertised first – either on its website or via it very active social media channels – enabling you to plan ahead with your poker action.

One of the ongoing promotions has already been touched upon – the freeroll tournaments rewarding players with tokens into live event qualifiers. Netbet sponsors a number of valuable live poker events throughout Europe and – because the freerolls are exclusive to Netbet players rather than open to the whole network – qualifying for these events is much easier as a Netbet Poker player.

Software: NetBet Poker Download

Netbet Poker uses the same Playtech software that is used by all the sites on the iPoker Network. Unfortunately the Netbet Poker download is only available for Windows, and there is no “Instant Play” no-download poker software available. So players who want to play Netbet Poker on a Mac will have to use a Windows emulator.

The Netbet Poker download itself is a bit resource-intensive. I recommend a minimum of 950MB free space and 2GB of memory, but most Windows computers built within the past few years should be able to cope with the demands of the software. Once downloaded and installed, the latest version of the Netbet software is very good and easy to navigate.

Software: NetBet Poker on a Mobile

Since originally compiling this Netbet Poker review, the site has introduced mobile poker apps for ioS, Android and Windows Phones. The apps can be downloaded for free from the Netbet Poker website and allow you to play cash games, online tournaments and Netbet´s three-handed, hyper-turbo Sit & Go games “Twister Poker”.

At the present time, you can create an account via the mobile apps but still have to fund your account through the Netbet website, although this might change in a later software release. Watch out for special offers and exclusive mobile missions while the apps are in their infancy and has the site encourages more players to play at Netbet Poker on the go.

Deposit and withdrawal options at Netbet are fairly extensive. The site accepts Visa, MasterCard, and payments from eWallets such as Skrill and Neteller (not PayPal however). You can fund your account with Bitcoin via Neteller, but watch out for some low deposit limits. For example, if you choose to deposit into your account using PaySafeCard, the maximum deposit is €100.00.

Whereas Netbet is very good at updating its website with promotions and special offers, it is not so great at keeping its online Help Centre current. Fortunately the site provides an excellent customer support service via telephone, email and live chat (live chat available in English only from 8:00am to Midnight GMT).

I found the customer support representatives very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I think that many sites could learn from the level of support offered by Netbet and, although I do not expect players to encounter issues with the site that often, felt reassured that the people I spoke with knew how to answer my questions quickly and efficiently.

My Experience Playing at NetBet Poker

The recent introduction of Netbet poker on a mobile has made a good site even better. I also believe that Netbet should allow players sixty days (rather than the current forty-five days) to clear the poker bonus.
